5th Annual Tour de Coops

About the Tour & Festival

Known as the valley’s “most unique home tour”, Tour de Coops is a self-guided tour and sustainability festival that celebrates urban chickens and sustainable living in the Valley of the Sun. Tour goers can share coop design tips, chicken keeping secrets and discuss other sustainable practices with members of the community who are already keeping chickens in their backyard.  Tour de Coops is organized by the Valley Permaculture Alliance.

This year we are pleased to announce that we are partnering with Keep Phoenix Beautiful and other likeminded community groups to help promote sustainability, permaculture and chicken keeping at a festival that will foster education, discussion and camaraderie within the community.  The event will be held in the heart of town at PHX Renews on the north east corner of Central Ave & Indian School Rd.  The Sustainability Festival is FREE to everyone!

Chickens you say…in our modern lives?…You bet!

The Tour de Coops is a self-guided family-oriented tour of backyard chicken coops and this year’s event will showcases some of the coolest ways of integrating fowl into a sustainable urban environment.

Each year in an effort to inspire and give the community insight into the myriad expressions of hands-on sustainable living, our urban farming friends and neighbors generously agree to open their backyards and chicken coops for the public to experience.
